NATIONAL LAND COMMISSION NOW SEEKS DIRECTORS TO MOVE LAND REFORM AGENDA

The newly established National Land Commission of Kenya has now advertised for various Directors to help drive the country's land reforms.
The Commission was sworn in on the 28th of February and assumed office in Ardhi House soon after. It recently advertised and conducted interviews for a Chief Executive Officer who should be assuming office some time soon. All the Directors to be recruited will take charge of their various directorates and will report directly to the CEO. The posts advertised in the two leading newspapers are:-
1. Director, Finance and Administration: Should have a Masters degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Economics and must be a qualified accountant(CPA-K) among other qualifications.
2. Director, Human Resources Management: Must have a Masters degree in Human Resource Management or related field and have at least 10years experience in HR among others qualifications
3. Director, Legal Affairs and Enforcement: Must have a degree in law from a recognised University in Kenya and be an advocate of the High Court of Kenya and have a practising certificate among other qualifications.
4. Director, Surveying and Planning: Must have a Masters degree in any survey related field, GIS or Planning from a recognized University, be a full member of ISK and have at least 10 years experience among other qualifications.
5. Director of Land Administration: Should have a Bachelors degree in any field related to land management and have at least 10 years experience among other qualifications.
6. Director-Land Adjudication and Settlement: Must have a Masters degree in any of land survey, planning, land economics, law, geography, agriculture, human ecology & sociology or community development from a University recognised in Kenya. Must have at least 10 years in land management and/or an equivalent among other qualifications.
7. Director Research and Advocacy: Must have a minimum of a Masters degree(PhD an added advantage) from an accredited College or University in either of land, environment, land management & administration, natural resource management, land law, land survey, spatial planning, land economics, education or other social sciences. They must also have at least 10 years experience in research among other qualifications.
8. Director-Land Information Management: Should have a minimum of Bachelors degree from a recognised University in cartography, land surveying, computer science, geography or a related discipline and also 5-10 years hands-on work in GIS work among other qualifications.
9. Director of Valuation and Land Taxation: Must have a Bachelors degree in Real Estate or Land Economics from a recognised University and must be a registered/licensed valuer with a valid practising certificate.
10. Director-Information, Communication and Technology (ICT): Must have a Masters degree from an accredited College or University in computer sciences, business administration, public administration, mathematics or related field and at least 10 years experience in technical operations management and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience among other qualifications.
11. Head-Audit and Risk Management: Must have a Masters degree in Business Administration or other relevant field from a recognized University. Must also have a CPA-K and be a member of ICPAK and have 10 years progressive experience in Auditing among other qualifications.
